Hi! Here’s a little demo of the game I’m working on for the Drunkencoders winter coding competition. It’s sort of a sleigh ridin’ shooter type thing.
The compo doesn’t end for another 3 weeks or so, but I thought it’d be a shame not to release this now since it’s got santa in it. It’s still a WIP though..
Touch your reindeer to jump. Touch anywhere else to shoot. Raise the score multiplier with accurate shooting for a chance to get a delicious invincibility pudding!
- You can now hit Start to give up the current run.
- High score for current session is kept track of.
- Made title music sound slightly better on DS speakers.
- Beard regrowth score penalty is now on a sliding scale.
Someone scored over a thousand by being really bad at it. The updated scoring system might stop that kind of thing from happening. :D
My first attempt at coding for the Nintendo DS is done……
Made for the 2nd YakYak coding compo, with devkitARM / libnds. The idea of the compo was to use a random game name generator to come up with a name, and then make it into a game. I’m happy with the result. ^__^ It’s real dodgy, but was fun to make. I have no real plans to add more levels or anything…this was mainly a learning exercise. Coding for the DS is the best thing ever.
It’s pretty obvious what you have to do. USE THE MAGNET TO ATTRACT THE RAZOR TO SHAVE THE FACE.
Scoring works something like this: You get points for each hair you cut. You lose points the more time it takes. you also lose points for cutting yourself. You lose more points if you’re too slow and your beard starts growing again. Popping The Pimple results in temporary reverse polarity, during which you get double the points for each hair cut. If you manage to not get cut at all, you get bonus points….and if you also win before regrowth starts, you get even more bonus points.
